Following a marketing career that spanned the coasts, Greg DeLuca has brought his design savvy to southern Vermont, with the latest iteration of his creativity leading to the planned opening this May of W. Vanderlip & Company Gallery & Emporium in Pawlet.
As of mid-February, he was working on a lineup of Vermont artisans and artists to introduce the new gallery, located in an old barn with original post-and-beam structure. It has 12-foot windows offering views of the fields and vistas of the Mettawee River.
Under the name of W. Vanderlip & Company, he also will conduct private tours to regional studios for private viewings of new works and collections. This program is expected to span five hours and will include lunch. He also will provide the décor for special events and festivities, and will be on call to regale hosts and guests alike by creating themed birthday parties for all ages.
“I’ve always been interested in the arts and am putting my passion to work here,” he said, adding the name Vanderlip derives from one of the first families of Manchester dating to back the 1700s.
DeLuca is no stranger to the art scene in the Green Mountains. This past fall, he staged a pop-up gallery showcasing arts over a two-week period in Manchester, VT.
W. Vanderlip & Company Gallery & Emporium is located at 6256 Route 30, Pawlet, VT 05761. The telephone number is 802.770.8820; the e-mail address is firstname.lastname@example.org. Hours are expected to be from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. The Web site is www.wvanderlip.com.
