    Search leads to pot arrest

PUTNEY — A search for two runaways on Saturday resulted in a Putney man’s arrest for growing pot.

State Police were informed that a 13- and 17-year-old were at the home of Alex James, 20, on Mill Street. The two youths were not located but police discovered less than 2 ounces of marijuana and more than 10 marijuana plants inside James’ home.

James was charged with marijuana possession and cultivation and will be arraigned June 4 at criminal court in Brattleboro, according to State Trooper Travis Valcourt.
