A Connecticut woman has been arraigned in Vermont in what police believe is an interstate drug ring that sold a strong form of heroin in the Burlington area in the last two years.

Laura Urban, of Old Saybrook, Conn., has pleaded not guilty to conspiracy to distribute heroin and to possession with intent to distribute heroin.

The Burlington Free Press reported that three others will be arraigned next week.

Court papers said one of the members of the alleged heroin ring is 30-year-old Chandara “Po” Sam, of Lowell, Mass. Sam was charged in April with selling 45 grams of heroin to a police informant.

Prosecutor believe Sam is part of a group that has been selling a potent form of heroin that has led to several overdoses in Vermont.
