Police are looking for a Clarendon man after he allegedly spit in the face of a doctor who was treating his injuries from a car crash.

Judge Theresa S. DiMauro issued an arrest warrant for Todd A. Fordley, 25, after Fordley failed to appear in Rutland criminal court Monday to answer a misdemeanor charge of simple assault with bodily fluids on a health care worker.

According to an affidavit filed with the court, April 20, Fordley was injured during a car crash in Castleton and was taken to Rutland Regional Medical Center for treatment.

While there, affidavits state, Fordley “was very uncooperative and needed to be chemically and physically retrained.” As the doctor attempted to cut off Fordley’s clothing, Fordley allegedly spit in the doctor’s face, police said.
