• Fire destroys garage of rural Arlington home

    ARLINGTON — No one was hurt in a fire that was believed to have been started by a lightning strike on Monday afternoon but a garage was destroyed on Red Mountain Road, according to Jamie Paustian.

    The Arlington Volunteer Fire Department got the call around 5 p.m. on Monday. By the time they reached the area, the garage was fully involved in flames.

    Paustian said there were some challenges because the fire was in a rural area but it was brought under control within about 30 minutes. Firefighters remained on scene for another 90 minutes.

    Several restored vehicles, including a Cadillac and a Model-T Ford were destroyed in the fire.
