    BENNINGTON — Nancy Ann Paquin, 73, of Gaithersburg, Md., died Dec. 29, 2012, at Shady Grove Hospital, from complications of COPD.

    Born Nov. 3, 1939, she graduated in 1957 from Bennington High School, in 1961 from the University of Vermont with a B.A. in mathematics, and earned an M.S. in public administration at American University in 1965.

    Ms. Paquin was employed by the U.S. Public Health Service from 1961 until retirement in 1999. She served at the Bureau of Radiological Health and later, at the Bureau of Health Manpower, where she was appointed agency chief information officer in 1996.

    She was a member of St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church, Pi Beta Phi Sorority and many professional organizations.

    She enjoyed photography, the Washington Redskins, gardening, home projects and time spent at Lake Raponda in Wilmington.

    Survivors include a brother, Raymond Paquin Jr. of Port Charlotte, Fla.; three sisters, Jean Maillet of Punta Gorda, Fla., Barbara French of Montrose, Colo., and Patricia Surdam of Bennington; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

    Ms. Paquin was predeceased by a brother, John Paquin.

    The memorial Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday, July 5, 2013, at Sacred Heart St. Francis de Sales Church, followed by a reception in the parish hall.

    In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, American Lung Association, or a charity of your choice, in care of Mahar and Son Funeral Home, 628 Main St., Bennington, VT 05201.
