    MENDON — John Francis Cupak, 64, of Mendon and former resident of New York, died unexpectedly playing golf on Friday, July 19, 2013.

    He was born in Mount Vernon, N.Y., April 16, 1949, the son of Francis and Anne (Maresco) Cupak.

    John was a graduate of Iona College of New Rochelle, N.Y., and enjoyed a 40-year career as an accountant at Drew Industries.

    He was a very devoted grandfather and he enjoyed skiing, golfing and world traveling. John also enjoyed the company of many friends.

    He is survived by his wife, Andrea (Deary) Cupak of Mendon; a daughter, Jordona Travis of San Diego, Calif.; two grandchildren, Jakob and Ethan Travis; a sister, Debra Monstrando of Delaware, and three brothers, Francis Cupak of New York, Andrew Cupak of Texas and Michael Cupak of New York; nieces and nephews.

    He was predeceased by his parents.

    Visiting hours will be held Wednesday, July 24, from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Clifford Funeral Home in Rutland.

    Funeral services will follow at 12 p.m. at the funeral home in Rutland. Officiating will be Rev. Justin Baker, pastor of Christ the King Church in Rutland.

    In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a local food bank.
