Man charged with felony domestic assault
Police: hot tub
A Rhode Island man who allegedly dragged a woman underwater during a fight in a Killington hot tub denied a felony charge of domestic assault in Rutland criminal court Monday.
Franklin D. Perry, 48, of Newport, R.I., pleaded innocent to a felony charge of aggravated domestic assault in the second degree and misdemeanor charges of violating an abuse prevention order and drunken driving.
Judge Theresa DiMauro set bail at $10,000 for Perry who posted the amount and was released from jail after the hearing.
Vermont State Police arrested Petty early Saturday morning after a woman in a property rented by Perry at 162 Tanglewood Drive in Killington told police that Perry allegedly grabbed her and dragged her underwater while trying to remove a ring from her finger.
