WINDSOR — The inn that was featured on a popular television show is up for a tax sale according to the Windsor Town Manager.

Tom Marsh confirmed the Juniper Hill Inn on Pembroke Road in Windsor will be auctioned Aug. 9 at town hall if back taxes are not paid in time. He said the inn owes up to $120,000 in back taxes, liens, overdue utility bills and interest and must pay it off within one year.

“This process is underway,” Marsh said. “The most common outcome is a mortgage holder will pay the taxes before it foregoes the tax sale. My expectation is the mortgage holder will step up and not let the thing be sold for a fraction of what they are owed. So they would step up, pay it and the go through the foreclosure process.”

Juniper Hill Inn co-owners Robert Dean and Ari Nikki were not available for comment. A representative at the inn said they are still open and they have been “fully-booked.”

The Juniper Hill Inn was featured on “Hotel Hell” on the Fox Network. In this series, host Gordon Ramsay, who also stars in the hit show “Hell’s Kitchen” visits struggling bed and breakfasts and inns across the country with the hopes of turning them around. The episodes aired last August.
