    BENNINGTON — Anna G. Cross, 90, died Saturday, July 27, 2013, at her residence.

    She was born in Bennington, Nov. 25, 1922, the daughter of Merle and Mabel (Stratton) Elwell.

    She graduated from the former Bennington High School and studied nursing at House of Mercy Hospital in Pittsfield, Mass.

    On April 3, 1943, she married Carroll B. Cross in Shaftsbury.

    In earlier years, Mrs. Cross was employed at Polygraphic Co. in North Bennington and later, at Bennington Brush Co. She and her husband ran Carroll’s Offset Camera from 1972 until 1992.

    She enjoyed jigsaw puzzles.

    Survivors include her husband, two daughters, Gale Wisher, Linda Corey, and a sister, Cora Sears, all of Bennington; a son, Mirle Cross of Stoddard, N.H.; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

    The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 30, at White Chapel Church on Chapel Road, where burial will be in White Chapel Cemetery.

    Calling hours are from 3 to 6 p.m. Monday, July 29, at the Mahar and Son Funeral Home.
