hurt in crash
PITTSFORD ó A Brandon teen remained in a Rutland hospital Monday after a car crash on Route 3 Sunday afternoon, according to Vermont State Police.
Police say a 1996 Honda Civic slid off the road and into a telephone pole north of Stevens Road at just before 3 p.m.
The impact snapped the utility pole and heavily damaged the driverís side door of the Honda.
The driver of the car, Kobe Pinkham, 18, suffered broken bones and unknown internal injuries, police said. He was taken by ambulance to Rutland Regional Medical Center.
A spokeswoman for the hospital said Monday that Pinkham was listed in the hospitalís directory but no status on his condition was available.
A passenger in the vehicle, John Thornton, 17, of Brandon, was uninjured in the crash. Police say Thornton was wearing his seatbelt while Pinkham was not.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation although police say speed was a factor. Several homes in the area lost power after the crash due to the downed power lines.MORE IN This Just In
