    DANBY — Daniel William Brown, 44, of Danby, formerly of Castleton, died unexpectedly Sunday, September 1, 2013, upon arrival at the Rutland Regional Medical Center.

    He was born September 9, 1968, in Rutland, the son of Robert and Linda (Crouch) Brown.

    Mr. Brown grew up in Castleton, and graduated from Fair Haven Union High School in 1987.

    He married Kathleen Coburn on May 13, 2000.

    Mr. Brown had been employed for 21 years as a truck foreman with Pike Industries, and currently was employed by R.L. Vallee in Rutland and Fair Haven.

    He enjoyed driving his wife around in the convertible and NASCAR, especially Jeff Gordon. He loved to mow his lawn, snowmobiling, country music, his basset hound “Fred,” and his dog “Sibby.”

    Survivors include his wife, Kathleen of Danby; two daughters, Emily Keeler and her husband, Nick Perry of Hampton, N.Y., and Kaylee Rumrill and her husband, Ryan of Pawlet; a son George Keeler of Danby; two grandchildren, Carter Perry and Owen Perry, both of Hampton, N.Y.; a sister Robin Williams and her husband, Donald of Cuttingsville; three brothers, Bobbie Brown and his wife, Ann of Fair Haven, Allen Brown and his wife, Missy of Castleton, and Eddy Brown and his wife, Jennifer of Clifton Park, N.Y.; his stepmother Marcie Brown of Castleton; several nieces and nephews.

    He was predeceased by his parents.

    Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 6, 2013, at the Durfee Funeral Home.

    Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 7, at his residence, 344 Tinmouth Road, Danby. A reception will follow at the Danby Town Hall.
