POULTNEY — Police are investigating a Halloween-themed home invasion that happened early Tuesday morning.

According to Vermont State Police, around 3:30 a.m., a resident awoke to find a burglar in the kitchen of his East Main Street home. Police said the intruder was wearing what it called a Halloween-style skull mask.

When confronted, the masked man fled the house on foot, making off with a laptop computer.

The suspect is described as being 5 feet, 10 inches tall, with a medium build and wearing all black and a mask. Anyone with information is asked to call the State Police Rutland barracks at 773-9101.
