    PITTSFORD — Edris F. Lane, 87, died Friday, November 8, 2013, at Rutland Health and Rehabilitation Center in Rutland.

    She was born April 16, 1926, in Reading, the daughter of Ernest and Emma (Densmore) Spaulding.

    She was brought up in Proctorsville, VT, by her mother and step-father, Warren Johnson.

    Edris attended Proctorsville Grammar School and graduated from Chester High School. She also was a graduate of Bryant College in Providence, RI.

    She was formerly employed by the Holstein Friesian Association in Brattleboro, and later by Rutland Savings Bank, before retiring from the Chittenden Bank (formerly Rutland Savings) in 1999.

    She was a member of the Pittsford Congregational Church, and enjoyed the outdoors, especially bird-watching and artifact hunting on Lake Champlain.

    She married Robert Lane in 1947, in Proctorsville. He predeceased her in 1999.

    Edris is survived by son, Barry Lane and his wife, Peg of North Clarendon; her beloved companion, Stanley Davis of Pittsford; two granddaughters, Amber Chesser and her husband, Jeremy and Jennifer Washburn; a grandson, Brandon Lane; four great-granddaughters, Nimue, Avalon, Harleigh, and Ailyn; two great-grandsons, Owen and Adley; three nieces and one nephew.

    She was predeceased by a sister, Addie Spaulding and two brothers, Keith and Wayne Spaulding.

    There will be no calling hours.

    Funeral services will be held Monday, November 11, 2013, at 11 a.m. at the Barnard Funeral Home in Pittsford.

    Burial will take place at a later date in Cavendish Village Cemetery in Cavendish.

    The family suggests memorial contributions in Edris’s memory, for those who wish, be made to the Rutland County Humane Society, 765 Stevens Road, Pittsford, VT 05763.
