    Family show to

    start today

BENNINGTON — The Oldcastle Actors’ Express will present “I Didn’t Know That,” a lighthearted revue of first facts, selected oddities and world records based on The Guinness Book of World Records for family audiences, opening at 11 a.m. today at Oldcastle Theatre.

The show will run Saturdays throughout November.

This comedy for children presents more than 50 startling facts about topics like the first policewoman, the origins of superstitions and world records for leapfrogging, sneezing and laying eggs.

The production is directed by Sheila Childs, a longtime Oldcastle actress, director and teacher who has appeared in numerous Oldcastle productions.

The cast includes Amanda Garcia and Ana Anderson, who recently appeared in the Actors’ Express production of “The Revenge of the Big, Bad Wolf.”

Oldcastle’s producing artistic director, Eric Peterson, said that Saturday mornings have proven to be very popular with families and a great way to introduce children to the joys of theater.

“The show is funny and fun and will be enjoyed as much by adults as children. Kids will particularly love the musical moments and physical humor and they will learn some interesting facts that will allow them to amaze their friends,” Peterson said.
