    Man gets 2 years

    for stealing iPads

WINOOSKI — A Vermont man has been sentenced to more than two years in prison for stealing 50 Apple iPads from the Winooski School District.

Police said 22-year-old Charles Ring entered the John F. Kennedy School at the Winooski Educational Center twice in July and stole 25 iPads each time. Police said the equipment was valued at over $25,000.

The Burlington Free Press reported that Ring pleaded guilty Friday to burglary and unlawful mischief as part of a plea agreement.

Winooski Police Chief Steve McQueen said Ring’s arrest came shortly after police received multiple tips from the public about the identity of a man seen in a school surveillance video.
