• Judge rejects opponents’ appeal of clinic

    SOUTH BURLINGTON — A judge has dismissed an appeal by opponents of a new addiction treatment center in South Burlington.

    The South Burlington School District has opposed the methadone clinic because it’s near the middle school and high school.

    The state Environmental Court judge ruled Tuesday that the clinic, which opened in September, complies with the community’s zoning rules.

    The clinic is one of a several regional substance abuse treatment hubs being opened around Vermont to treat opiate addiction.
