    BARTON - A Vermont man has been charged with leaving the scene of an accident after a single-car crash that left his passenger critically injured.

    Police said the crash happened at about 10:50 p.m. on May Pond Road in Barton. After receiving calls from concerned passers-by, police found passenger Lauren Fluegge in the car. They said the 27-year-old woman from Barton was suffering life-threatening injuries. She was taken to Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, N.H. A hospital supervisor said she was in critical condition Monday morning.

    Police later arrested 23-year-old Zachary Labor of Barton, saying he left the scene without properly notifying emergency officials about Fluegge. It wasn't immediately known if he had a lawyer.
