WALLINGFORD — Nancy Moore Kelly, 71, died suddenly at home on January 1, 2014.
She was born February 13, 1942, in Warrenton, Virginia, the daughter of William E. Moore and E. Roswell Fuller.
Nancy spent her childhood in Clarksville, Virginia, and graduated from Bluestone High School, where her father was principal.
She was a graduate of Mary Washington College of the University of Virginia, majoring in English.
She moved to New York City, and worked as an editor for McGraw-Hill Publishing.
In April 1970, she married Walter P. Kelly and they moved to Wallingford, Vermont.
She is survived by her husband, two children, W. Patrick and his wife Tara, of Auburn, New Hampshire, and Elizabeth R. and her partner, Christopher Natkanski of Boston, Massachusetts, and two grandchildren, Sean and Liam Kelly. She is also survived by her two brothers, William Earl Moore, Jr. (Mickey) of South Hill, Virginia, and Albert Bennet Moore and his wife, Sue of Mechanicsville, Virginia, and numerous nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
Nancy was very active in the United Methodist Church of Rutland, Vermont, where she was a member for over four decades and held many lay leadership roles.
Above all, she was a loving, caring and extremely devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, who was a constant source of support for her family. She will be dearly missed.
A memorial service will be held at the Rutland United Methodist Church on Saturday, January 4, 2014, at 11 a.m., with a reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, contributions to the church are appreciated.
