SUTTON ó The Vermont town of Sutton is looking to install a new well.
The Caledonian Record reported that the Select Board recently reviewed a proposal that would have it borrow up to $150,000 for the replacement of the village water systemís well. High nitrate levels are the reason the water system has been a concern for much of 2013.
The proposal estimates it would go to voters by Oct. 30 and the new well would be completed by Aug. 30, 2015.
Sutton has not charged residents on the water system for several quarters due to the water not being drinkable by pregnant women or children. The water can be used for washing, showers and by adults.MORE IN This Just In
