Temps could feel as cold as 40 below zeroJanuary 21,2014
The National Weather Service has issued a wind-chill advisory for Rutland County.
The advisory is in effect from 10 p.m. Tuesday night until noon Wednesday. Temperatures are forecast to fall to as low as 14 degrees below zero. With north winds blowing between 10 mph and 15 mph, temperatures will feel as cold as 40 degrees below zero.
Prolonged exposure to such temperatures can lead to frostbite and hypothermia.
The advisory covers much of central and southern Vermont, as well as the Champlain Valley. Other affected counties include Chittenden, Franklin, Grand Isle and Washington.MORE IN This Just In
