    West Rutland 66, Mid-Vermont 63

QUECHEE — West Rutland came out on top in what coach Don Dunchus called a “real barn burner.”

Jordan Pease was outstanding for West Rutland, flourishing with 36 points. Jeremy Avoli put up 16 and Joey Callahan contributed 10.

While Pease and company kept trying to distance the Horde from Mid-Vermont Christian, Austin Sayers was busy trying to keep pace as he tied Pease for the most points scored with 36.

“It was a great battle between (Pease and Sayers),” Dunchus said. “I just thought we were really composed in the last two minutes.”

    Mid-Vermont Christian falls to 9-4.

West Rutland improves to 7-3 and travels to Ludlow on Tuesday to take on Black River.
