Woodstock approves town, school budgets
WOODSTOCK — Voters here passed municipal and school budget proposals Tuesday.
The approved town budget of $4,408,140 is up 6.6 percent from the current $4,133,755. It will require local taxes of $3,053,010, up 3.1 percent from the current $2,959,625.
The approved school budget of $3,216146 is up 6.9 percent from the current $3,006,254.
The town didn’t see any contested races, with Select Board incumbent Preston Bristow running unopposed for a three-year term and vice chairman Bruce Gould running unopposed for a two-year term.
The only ballot defeat: A proposal to offer property-tax-exempt status to solar power installations was rejected by a margin of 272-252.
