EDGEWATER, Fla. — Forrest Wheelock died Thursday, Feb. 27, 2014, in Edgewater, Florida.
He was born April 9, 1935, in Rockingham, Vermont.
He grew up and was educated in Healdville, Vermont, and graduated from Black River High School in 1954.
He worked for many years at Dakin Mills in Ludlow, Vermont. His last 15 years of employment were at General Electric in Rutland, Vermont. He is survived by his wife of fifty years, Constance Wheelock of Edgewater, Florida; a brother, Alfred Wheelock of Peoria, Arizona; a sister, Phyllis Gibbs of Mechanicsville, Maryland; and four children: Gerri Pinney and husband, Bob of Rutland, Vermont; Ronnie Link of Castleton, Vermont; Bob Link and wife, Debi of Edgewater, Florida; and Sharon McGowan and husband, Patrick of Princeton, Massachusetts. Forrest also had fifteen grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by three brothers: Lowell Wheelock, Herb Wheelock, and Elmer Wheelock; as well as two daughters: Karen Baker-Buskey and Tammy Wheelock-Fredette.
Forrest was a kind, gentle, loving family man who was respected by all who knew him. He took great pride in the upkeep of his home. He loved playing horseshoes and cribbage. He will be truly missed.
A memorial service will be announced at a future date.
