ARLINGTON ó Voters in Arlington approved the town budget of $1,258,815 from the floor Monday night, according to Town Clerk Robin Wilcox.

By Australian ballot Tuesday, nine other questions were approved, increasing the budget by an additional $119,000 for things like sidewalks, town vehicles and an audit. All agency appropriations were also approved.

The school budget of $6,591,225 was approved 284-114. Kevin Smith defeated Glen Gross, 209-128, for a two-year seat on the School Board. There was no incumbent in the race.

All items on the school ballot were passed, including a question asking for approval to reduce all two-year terms on the School Board to one-year terms.

Both the town and school asked voters if they could notify residents with postcards about the availability of future annual reports. In both cases, voters gave their approval.
