    is raising funds

    LUDLOW — The Odyssey of the Mind team from Black River High School/Middle School is raising funds to compete in next month’s world finals.

    The team — students Mary Faenza, Alyssa Shaw, Sonya Sheehan, Eliza Tarbell and coach Sheila Selden — won first place in Division III at the recent Vermont state competition at Champlain Valley High School in Hinesburg.

    If the team can collect enough money, it will represent Vermont at the Odyssey of the Mind 2014 World Finals on May 28-31 at Iowa State University.

    Odyssey of the Mind is the largest problem-solving competition in the world, with more than 800 teams expected at the 35th international event.
