    The Vermont House of Representatives has passed a resolution supporting the Western Rail Corridor.

    The resolution, approved by the House Tuesday, promotes the extension of passenger rail service from Rutland to Burlington as beneficial to New York and Vermont and supports the stateís efforts to seek federal grant money to further the effort.

    Sponsors of the resolution include Rep. Herb Russell, D-Rutland, Rep. Stephen Carr, D-Brandon, and Rep. David Potter, D-Clarendon.
