Construction crews have delayed the start of a weeklong detour of Vermontís Route 30 until Friday night.
Workers at the roadís lower starting point in Brattleboro are set to divert traffic onto roads as far away as Windsor County as they work to remove a 1,000-foot Interstate 91 bridge overhead.
With preparations nearly complete, contractors are now scheduled to close the road Friday night and not reopen it until the afternoon of April 18.
The detour will add 22 miles for through traffic that will be diverted onto the interstate and routes 11 and 103.
