    Police: Dog

    appeared strangled

HARTFORD ó Police are investigating the death of a dog found along the White River in the Vermont town of Hartford.

Hartford police said Wednesday that it appears that the Labrador retriever-pit bull mix was purposefully strangled. Authorities also say the dog had trauma to the back of its neck.

The neutered 2-year-old tan dog was found down an embankment off of Old River Road.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Hartford Community Services Officer Brandon Dyke.
