    Ethel M. Poljacik

    Ethel M. Poljacik, 88, a resident of Village Lane, died peacefully at her home Sunday, May 4, 2014. The daughter of Morris and Lucy (Robinson) Holden, she was born Jan. 9, 1926 in Rutland.

    She worked for Ayrshire in Brandon and then the Vermont Department of Transportation, retiring after 30 years. She was a former member of the Order of the Eastern Star, she enjoyed reading, sewing, knitting, traveling and spending time in her flower and vegetable gardens.

    She leaves her daughter-in-law, Colleen Sinnott of Kasilof, Alaska; brothers James Holden of Middlebury, Clarence Holden of Pittsford, David Pete Holden of Alaska; sisters Elsie Zakrzewski of Rutland, Carol Wu of Ludlow and Patricia Begnoche of Middlebury; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her husband, John Poljacik Sr., son, John Poljacik Jr., and sister Bertha Holden.

    Ethel will be buried next to her husband with a private family service at Evergreen Cemetery in Pittsford.
