As a DAV veteran of World War II, I served on a cruiser in the Pacific Ocean with the Third Fleet. I was injured during duty and spent nearly six months in a naval hospital in Oakland, Calif.

I received the best care, and when I was released home to Troy, N.Y., the VA hospital was a new facility in Albany, N.Y., and I received the same outstanding care.

I moved to Vermont in 1963. At that time, I started to receive care from the VA hospital in White River Junction. Again the attention and care I received were outstanding. I have never been neglected with regard to my health care as a veteran of World War II.

There is now a VA facility in my hometown of Rutland. They have been tremendous to me in all areas of my health care.

I am writing this letter to express my sincerest gratitude to the VA for their kindness, attentiveness and care for me over the many years.

I have heard of some negative mishandling some have received, but I personally have nothing but praise and gratitude for the VA hospitals and doctors that have taken great care of my personal needs.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart. Keep up your great work.
