MONTPELIER — The Community College of Vermont is offering several free business courses this fall at locations around the state and online.

Among the classes being offered is the Governor’s Career Ready Certificate course, which will be available at the Montpelier academic center and three others. The class targets skills most requested by Vermont businesses and focuses on improving resumés and interviewing skills; developing teamwork and interpersonal skills; time and project management; identifying trends and interpreting data; learning basic computer skills; and building a solid career foundation.

In Montpelier, the course will be offered Mondays and Thursdays from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m., starting Sept. 30 and wrapping up Nov. 13. Information sessions are scheduled for Sept. 22 and 25 from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m.

CCV will offer an online course called Working in a Professional Environment from Sept. 2 through Dec. 9.

Various courses will also be offered in Bennington, Middlebury, Morrisville, Rutland, White River Junction and Winooski.

Funding for the courses is provided through the U.S. Department of Labor and the Vermont Department of Labor.
