Why are gas prices so high in Vermont and New York? I drove from Vermont to Phoenix, Ariz., in February, March, April and May of this year. I did not pay over $3.40 per gallon in all the states I drove through — Pennsylvania, Maryland, West Virginia, Tennessee, Arkansas, Oklahoma, Texas and New Mexico. Why in the East is gas so high? Gas is so abundant at this time we are exporting it. Come on, East Coasters, let’s find the real reasons.
