BENNINGTON - Greenberg’s Hardware, a fixture in Bennington’s downtown, for 65 years will be closing its doors at the end of the month.

A sign was put up outside the Main Street store on Wednesday announcing the closure and thanking customers. The sign also announced an “everything must go” sale.

Store officials were unavailable for comment on Wednesday morning.

In 2013, Greenberg’s joined Leader Home Center, a hardware and lumber yard business, with locations in Barre and Brattleboro, as well as in Massachusetts.
