The following news item was printed in the July 15 Rutland Herald (page A2), “Egypt presented a cease fire plan Monday to end a week of heavy fighting between Israel and Hamas militants in the Gaza Strip that has left at least 185 people dead.”

To the casual reader one might assume that there were casualties on both sides, when in fact all of the 185 dead were Palestinians with 80 percent of the deaths being women and children.

If your readers want objective reporting on the death and destruction in Gaza (and destruction in Israel), I recommend they listen to “Democracy Now” on WDEV (96.1 F.M /550 A.M.) weekdays at 5:30 p.m. or go to the web at www.democracynow.org for a video version.
