A Rutland man is in jail for lack of $10,000 bail after city police said he assaulted a woman at his Tuttle Meadow Drive home.
Jason P. Silva, 39, pleaded innocent Monday in Rutland criminal court to a felony charge of second-degree aggravated domestic assault and misdemeanor counts of disorderly conduct, resisting arrest and unlawful mischief.
Silva was arrested Saturday at his home after police were called there for a domestic disturbance. Police said they saw Silva punch a man who had arrived to give a ride to a woman whose belongings Silva had thrown onto the front lawn.
A woman in the house told police Silva had kicked her thigh and used his palm to hit her in the face.
Silva was wrestled to the ground by officers during his arrest, according to court records.MORE IN This Just In
