    ROCHESTER — Merle Leslie “Bub” McIntyre died at his home in Rochester on Wednesday, July 23, 2014, following a short illness after a cancer diagnosis in early July.

    He was born in Rochester at his grandparents’ farm on July 21, 1937, to Leslie V. McIntyre and Louise E. Curtis McIntyre. As a young man he worked as a logger, and spent several years working for International Paper Company building roads, and surveying with his father. In later years he worked in maintenance at Mountain Green Resort in Killington.

    He enjoyed going to the Fiddler’s and recently Dorr’s Gathering Barn for “old time” country music.

    Survivors include his wife of 56 years, the former Nancy L. Socia whom he married on March 29, 1958; his children, Vicki L. West; Gregory S. “Scott” McIntyre; Sarah L. Luscomb; Wanda S. Menix; and Beth Tetreault; 11 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; brothers Dennis W., Douglas V., and Royce L. (Beaver) McIntyre; sister Marlene L. McIntyre.

    He was predeceased by his daughter Kelley Marie, his parents, his sister Patricia E. Duval and brother Deane C. “Chub” McIntyre.

    The funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 9, at Day’s Funeral Home in Randolph with a celebration of his life to be held at his home in Rochester following.
