    Linda Jean Busier

    WEYBRIDGE — Linda Jean Busier, 72, died Friday, July 25, 2014, at her home in Weybridge.

    Mrs. Busier was born June 11, 1942, in Port Henry, N.Y. She was the daughter of Sherman and Marjorie (Glover) Childs. She grew up in Port Henry where she received her early education. She has been a resident of Weybridge for the past 48 years. She had served the town as the first woman selectman. She was a past member of the Green Mountain Doll Club; The Middlebury Woman’s Club and belonged to The Red Hat Society in Middlebury.

    Surviving is her husband, Philip R. Busier of Weybridge, whom she married Nov. 9, 1968, in Port Henry, N.Y.; her son, Scott Busier of Weybridge and her grandson Morgan Busier; her sister, Sue Childs of Port Henry, N.Y.; her mother in law, Beulah Busier of Hinesburg; and a special aunt, Elaine Butterfield of Port Henry, N.Y.; and many special friends. Several nieces, nephew’s cousins also survive her.

    The graveside committal service and burial will take place at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 31, 2014, at Weybridge Hill Cemetery.

    Following the ceremony the family will receive friends at Middlebury Veterans of Foreign War’s Post on Exchange Street in Middlebury, for a time of remembrance.

    Memorial gifts in lieu of flowers may be made, in her memory to The Weybridge Town Hall Restoration Fund, c/o Scott Wales, 1727 Quaker Village Road, Weybridge, VT 05753.

    Arrangements are under the direction of Miller & Ketcham Funeral Home in Brandon.
