Can you please tell me what is wrong with the people who are in charge of our streets? Why haven’t the contractors who are ever so slowly tearing up Main Street in Rutland south of Madison not required to keep the potholes that they create filled in, or at least the dirt that they leave to replace the pavement sprayed with water, or even treated with calcium chloride to keep the dust down? Vehicles swerving to avoid the potholes but nevertheless getting caught in a dust storm on our city’s major thoroughfare is hardly what one would expect to be allowed to occur by a competent city government.
