    Library will host

    retirement party

Rutland Free Library will hold a reception from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday for director Paula J. Baker, who is retiring at the end of the month after 27 years of service to the library and the community.

The event is free and open to the public. Light refreshments will be served; book plates are for sale in the amount of $25 for those wishing to donate in Bakerís honor. RSVP to debch@rutlandfree.org

During Bakerís tenure, the library went from loaning books, magazines and LP records to loaning books, magazines, movies on VHS and later DVDs, CDs, audiobooks, e-readers, downloadable books and audiobooks, and museum passes. Dozens of databases are available on the website at rutlandfree.org, there are 12 public-access computers, and the library has free WiFi 24/7.
