Action now is the focus
A national movement is growing in our own backyard — bringing together people from diverse spiritual backgrounds, practices and faith traditions to work together to create a more healthy, prosperous future for our children and our planet. Last year’s first ever Our Children, Climate, Faith Symposium attracted spiritual leaders, scientists and concerned community members from around the country to learn more about climate activism, responses to growing social justice crises and the faith traditions of our neighbors. Keynote speakers Bill McKibben and Shyla Nelson were joined by a wide range of panelists, to create an event that was transformational, inspirational, even life-changing, and it’s been the buzz in many communities ever since.
The second annual Our Children, Climate, Faith Symposium will be held on Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 23-24, again in Strafford, featuring keynote speakers Tim DeChristopher and Starhawk, as well as over a dozen workshops to choose from, including sustainable technology, empowerment through the arts, civil disobedience training, public advocacy, media, inner transformation, supportive networking and much more. Visit www.FaithClimateConference.org and find us on Facebook at Our Children, Climate, Faith. Please register early as space is limited, and spread the word to your friends and neighbors, leaders and members of your faith community.
There is no question but that we must act now. But the question remains for many, what can I do? Come to Our Children, Climate, Faith to discover your next steps and gain the skill and support to achieve them.
