new city engineer
A Connecticut man will serve as Rutland’s new city engineer.
The city Department of Public Works announced Wednesday that Commissioner Jeffrey Wennberg had hired James Rotondo of Winchester Center, Conn., to fill the position vacated in May by Evan Pilachwoski.
Pilachowski — who rose through the ranks of DPW and served as its commissioner before returning to his previous position as city engineer — left in May to become the town engineer in Marlborough, Mass.
Rotondo currently serves as town engineer and assistant public works director for New Milford, Conn., and previously spent three years as director of public works in Winchester.
His professional background includes jobs as a self-employed consulting civil engineer and various positions in the management of a precast concrete manufacturing company.
Rotondo and his wife own a house on Lake Bomoseen and have been visiting the Rutland area for years. He will start work in mid-September.MORE IN This Just InRehearsing for an opera is like training for a marathon, says international performing artist... Full Story
