    LEICESTER — Frank P. Kulig Jr., 71, of Leicester, died Tuesday night, Aug. 19, 2014, at Rutland Regional Medical Center.

    He was born April 28, 1943, in Ludlow, Mass., the son of Frank P. Kulig Sr. and Bess (Ellis) Kulig. He was raised in Ludlow and had lived in Brimfield, Mass., before moving to Brandon in 1987.

    He was a U. S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War.

    Mr. Kulig was a self-employed general contractor and was married to Catherine Carney in Randolph Center on Aug. 20, 2005.  He was an avid collector and a member of the American Legion Post 55 in Brandon.

    Survivors include his wife, Catherine G. Kulig of Leicester; his daughters Christine Collins of Ware, Mass., Laurie-Alice Taylor of Milwaukie, Wisc., and Barbara Ann Kulig of Three Rivers, Mass.; his sons Frank P. Kulig III and Richard Kulig of Ware, Mass.; stepsons Clinton H. LaPlante of Hancock, Allan H. LaPlante of Rutland and Shane H. LaPlante of Randolph Center; brothers Mark Kulig of Safety Harbor, Fla., and Matthew Kulig of Brimfield, Mass.; sisters Lori Milne of Munson, Mass., and Jane Martins of Ludlow, Mass.; 33 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren. 

    He was predeceased by his stepson James H. LaPlante and brother Stephen Kulig.  

    Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours.
