Halfway Home
Well, we've reached the midpoint of the season and things are starting to get interesting.
Let's start in Division I.
Middlebury is unbeaten but faces a tough task against Rutland Friday. The Raiders are 1-3 but 1-0 where it counts, in the league. Brattleboro is also unbeaten and has Essex Saturday night.
The Tigers, Raiders and Colonels have the inside track to the playoffs but the fourth spot is certainly up for grabs. MSJ, Hartford, Essex and Mount Anthony are all 1-2.
Who do you think gets in???
Division II
BFA and South Burlington appear to be the cream of the crop in D-II and the league title will likely be on the line Friday, Oct. 20 in St. Albans when the two teams meet.
Don't count out St. Johnsbury yet, though, as the Hilltoppers are at SoBo this Saturday and they don;t play the Bobwhites.
Burlington is 2-1 in the league while Fair Haven and Lyndon are 1-2.
Who's in and who's out?
Division III
Colchester looked like a lock and then the Lakers barely beat Mount Mansfield. They and Windsor are 3-0 while Poultney and Rice are right behind at 2-1.
Rice is at Windsor Oct. 7 and then Colchester comes in Oct. 21.
Division IV
Clearly this division will come down to U-32 at Otter Valley on Saturday, Oct. 14. That game is scheduled for 3 p.m.
The Raiders have a huge amount of firepower. Do the defending champs have enough guns and enough defense to get the job done? How big is the home-field advantage?
Let us know what you think.
