Stone Valley Arts announces : OPEN CALL for COLLAGE : NEUROANATOMY
–
Stone Valley Arts at Fox Hill
$25
NEUROANATOMY. The evolution of meaning-making in human populations has been in progress over millennia. There is evidence in studies of neurobiology that help to explain the evolution of human belief systems. Humans grow into a cultural niche and our brain is extensively co-constructed through our interaction with the social and environmental landscape of that specific place and time. As Anthropologist, Augustin Fuentes writes, Neuroanatomy makes experience material. Cultural concepts and meanings become anatomy. The languages we speak, the foods we grow up with, the political, economic and gender systems we participate in - all infuse themselves into our neurobiology, sharing how we perceive and interact with the world.
