Green Mountain Academy for Lifelong Learning (GMALL) welcomes economist Peter Radford to talk about the modern corporation, which is a much maligned and misunderstood entity. In right wing economic theory, it hardly exists. In left wing theory, it is reviled. The Supreme Court shocked more than a few of us by arguing in its Citizens United decision that a corporation is a person. Corporations have been around a long time, so someone must find them useful. But why? What are they? Do shareholders own corporations? And are they really people? This talk is designed to answer all these questions and more.. Registration is $18 in advance or $22 at the door.
