Vermont Emergency Management Director Erica Bornemann, of Hyde Park, has been selected as the new president of the National Emergency Management Association (NEMA). She was previously voted in as vice-president by Emergency Management directors representing all U.S. states and territories. The NEMA vice-president is annually elevated to the presidency of the organization.

NEMA is a nonpartisan, nonprofit association dedicated to enhancing public safety in all 50 states, eight U.S. territories, and the District of Columbia. NEMA provides national leadership and expertise in emergency management; serves as an information and assistance resource; and advances improvement in emergency management through partnerships, programs and collaborative policy positions.
