BRANDON — The local American Legion hall was paid a visit recently by a national legion leader, who commended the local chapter’s Auxiliary for its role in the community throughout the pandemic.

National American Legion Auxiliary President Nicole Clapp, of Iowa, while on a tour of Vermont, stopped for lunch at the Brandon American Legion Post 55 Auxiliary. Department President Corrinna Colson, and John Tester, Auxiliary member from Post 50 in Castleton, also attended.

According to Colleen Wright, of Brandon, Clapp heard about the recent renovations to the hall and how it helped deliver 9,000 meals since October, as well as Operation Christmas for Soldiers, a Brandon Area Toy Project program coordinated by Ally Brown, that sends care packages to soldiers overseas around the holidays.
