Irene E. Hough NORTH CLARENDON — Irene E. Hough, age 53, of North Clarendon, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, May 2, 2019, due to a long-term illness, at the University of Vermont Medical Center. Irene was born on June 9, 1965, in Rutland, where she was also raised. Irene lived in several counties, including Windsor and Hartland, but always moved back to Rutland. Irene was predeceased by her grandmother, Mary Elizabeth Hough; and her mother, Mary Ann Mercier. At the time of her passing, she resided in North Clarendon with her husband of 32 years, Brian DiPietro. Irene is remembered fondly as a kind and caring individual; she was always willing to help a person in need. Irene enjoyed looking after her many grandchildren and any other children in her life, fishing and celebrating holidays surrounded by her family and friends. She was a collector of many things; her most treasured collections were of unicorn knick-knacks and water-globes. Irene is survived by a very large family and circle of friends, including her husband, Brian DiPietro; her children Dana Derepentigny, son-in-law Joesph Derepentigny, adopted daughter Nicole Woodie and son Gary Pellestri, all of Rutland; as well as five siblings Charles Blake, of Bellows Falls, Helen Wilkinson, of West Brattleboro, Norman E. Hall, of Rutland, Sherri Taggart, of Vermont, and Tammy. She also had many grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Irene was a one-of-a-kind human being, her passing will forever leave an unfillable void in the universe. She will be missed dearly by all her loved ones. There will be a Celebration of Life on May 25,2019; contact Irene’s husband or daughters for details. Arrangements are under the direction of Clifford Funeral Home in Rutland.
