Kim S. Scott RUTLAND — Kim Shappy Scott, 58, of Rutland died Tuesday morning, Feb. 4, 2020, in Rutland. He was born on July 13, 1961, in Rutland, the son of Ethel (Shappy) and Walter C. Scott Sr. Mr. Scott graduated from the Rutland High School in 1980. He married Suzanne Lancour, on April 25, 1982, in Rutland, his high school sweetheart whom he took on their first date on her 16th birthday, and they had been inseparable ever since. Mr. Scott was an expert in residential, commercial and automotive glass for over 35 years. His last 12 years, he spent as the owner and operator of Legacy Glass with his sons, daughter and wife. He was known as the family chef and bartender and enjoyed his Jeep, hunting, dancing on Saturday date night with his soulmate, and spending time with his grandchildren. He liked anything sports-related and was an avid Red Sox, Lakers, Black Hawks and Chargers fan. To say he was a Jack Daniels enthusiast would be an understatement, he was more of a connoisseur. Survivors include his wife of Rutland; a daughter, Brittney Scott and companion Eric Erwin of Rutland Town; two sons, Matthew Scott and wife Stefany of Proctor, and Zachary Scott and wife Yuu-san of Akita, Japan; two sisters, Linda Fortier and husband Raymond of Castleton, and Candace McMahon of Hydeville; two brothers, Walter C. Scott Jr. of Connecticut, and Robert I. Scott of Florida; seven grandchildren, Oliver Charron, Alice Charron, Nolan Erwin, Theodore Scott, Tucker Kim Scott, Lila Scott and one on the way; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother-in-law, Clarence W. McMahon Jr., in 2015; and a niece, Jill VanBuren, in 2016. Memorial services will be held 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 10, 2020, at Christ the King Church. A reception will follow at the VFW in Rutland. There will be no public calling hours. Arrangements are by the Aldous Funeral Home.
